Dallas Mavericks Defeat New Orleans Pelicans in High-Scoring Thriller

Mavericks Edge Pelicans 125-120 in Back-and-Forth Contest

Hawkins Leads Mavericks with Season-High 34 Points

The Dallas Mavericks claimed a hard-fought 125-120 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on January 15. The game was a high-scoring affair, with both teams trading baskets throughout the contest.

Rookie Jordan Hawkins played a pivotal role in the Mavericks' triumph, scoring a season-high 34 points. Hawkins made 12-of-22 field goals, including 5-of-10 from three-point range. His efficient performance helped propel the Mavericks to victory.

The Pelicans were led by Brandon Ingram, who scored 29 points. Zion Williamson added 28 points for New Orleans, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Mavericks' balanced scoring.

The game was close throughout, with neither team holding a double-digit lead at any point. The Pelicans took the lead early in the fourth quarter, but the Mavericks responded with a 10-2 run to regain the advantage. The Pelicans fought back within two points with just over a minute remaining, but the Mavericks held on thanks to a clutch basket from Hawkins.

The Mavericks' victory improves their record to 27-25 on the season. They will face the San Antonio Spurs on January 17.
